INSTALLATION
Instructions and Care
MountingThe recommended drill bit for the roller holes is 13/32" (.406" or 10.3mm) diameter. Hole spacing is 35mm (1.378") for the "Traditional" model (3 to a plate). Minimum hole spacing for the individual units is 34.4mm (1.354"). To assure the squareness of the holes to the mounting surface we recommend the use of a drill guide or jig. The full diameter of the roller holes must be 1 7/32" (1.219" or 31mm) deep. The recommended pilot drill for the mounting screw holes is 1/16" (.062" or 1.6mm) diameter. The mounting screw holes should be 1/4" (.250" or 6.35mm) deep. If the gears do not turn freely after installation, the roller holes may be too small, or were not drilled perpendicular to the side of the headstock. Lubrication About three times per year, apply a small amount of vaseline or light grease to the worm thread and gear teeth. It is not necessary to lubricate the bearings. Adjustment It is NOT recommended that your new tuners be adjusted. They will never require adjustment when new. Each tuner has been hand tested. Should adjustment be necessary after several years of use, follow these procedures:
Guarantee Gilbert Tuners are guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for a five(5) year period. |
