FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want to upgrade my tuners. Will Gilbert Tuners fit my guitar?
In most cases, yes. In a few instances, the roller holes may need to be enlarged to 13/32"

Will Gilbert Tuners use the existing tuner mounting holes?
No. New holes will need to be predrilled using the new tuner set as a guide. Put the tuner in place and mark the postion of the mountng holes. Remove tuner and drill the holes.

What if the new hole(s) overlap an existing hole(s)?
That old hole will need to be filled with wood putty and sanded flush before predrilling the new mounting holes.

What if my tuners bind?
Each tuner is hand-tested before it is shipped. Check to make sure the roller holes are drilled perpendicular to the side of the headstock or aren't too small.

How can I be sure that my holes are perpendicular to the side of the headstock?
It is recommended that you use a drill press, drill guide, or a drill jig.
